Diagnostic Network Optimization (DNO) is a practical, data-driven approach that uses geospatial analytics to assess diagnostic networks. The type of analysis depends on a country’s specific needs. For example, countries may use DNO to determine whether current testing capacity can meet existing and future demand, identify gaps in access, decide whether additional devices are needed and where they should be placed, or assess the potential for integrated testing on existing platforms.

To support wider use of DNO for strategic planning and diagnostic network strengthening, FIND and GLI developed a comprehensive stepwise implementation guide. In this webinar, Dr. Archana Beri, Principal Scientist and Global Lead for Diagnostic Network Optimization at FIND, highlighted the core pillars for a successful DNO: assessment of data availability, stakeholder engagement, selection and execution of the most appropriate analysis model, and translation of findings into actionable plans for improving diagnostic access, device placement, sample referral systems, and test integration.
