June 2022 LabCoP ECHO Session: Zimbabwe’s Experience Implementing Electronic Result Reporting

June 17, 2022

LabCoP’s June 2022 session featured the Zimbabwe experience implementing electronic result reporting, using the SMS platform, and the impact it is having on the timely utilization of laboratory results and general HIV clients management. Laboratory results are used in the diagnosis and monitoring of treatment response among individuals with acute and chronic conditions/diseases. It is crucial that laboratory investigations are conducted for eligible clients and that results from such tests are used in a timely manner to support clinical decision-making for better health outcomes. In this session, presentations are made by Chiedza Mguni, Clinic-Laboratory Interface Technical Lead, Biomedical Research and Training Institute (BRTI), Zimbabwe; Norah Sukutayi Vere, National HIV Program Laboratory Coordinator, AIDS and TB Unit, Ministry of Health and Child Care, Zimbabwe; Mufaro Masamha, Laboratory Information Management System Technical Lead, Biomedical Research and Training Institute (BRTI).
