Faced with the emergence and resurgence of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and recurring health emergencies, the need for an integrated diagnostic network and multisectoral approach is becoming increasingly essential. In this context, strengthening laboratory governance and pooling infrastructure appear as a key strategy for improving efficiency, optimizing available resources, and strengthening the resilience of health systems.
In this session, presented by Prof. Isidore BONKOUNGOU, a Professor of Microbiology-Virology, and a Director, of the Central Reference Laboratory, National Public Health Institute, Burkina Faso we spotlight Burkina Faso’s experience in laboratory governance, multisectoral collaboration, and the optimization of diagnostic infrastructure for sustainable public health.
