A good proportion of our population, across all socioeconomic strata, consult private health providers at some point when in need of services given the extent of their geographical reach and access. Involvement of the private sector, therefore, becomes extremely important in improving the effectiveness of most disease prevention and control programs including Tuberculosis. In this session presented by Nkirote MWIRIGI, the National Coordinator Public Private Mix, Human Rights and Gender, National TB Program , Ministry of Health, Kenya; we share experience in engaging the private sector in TB control including case studies that illustrate effective engagement models, strategies for collaboration lessons learned from Kenya’s implementation.
