April 30 ECHO

As countries decentralize testing and use trained lay providers difficulty in applying the current tools in non-lab settings. To support this, WHO in collaboration with external experts, partners, and country representatives developed a non-lab QMS toolkit . The toolkit offers a practical, minimum set of activities for settings where full QMS implementation isn’t feasible.

In this session, presented by Céline Lastrucci, Consultant, with WHO; Deonilde Sarmento, Focal Point for Laboratory Diagnostics, National STI, HIV, and Viral Hepatitis Control Program, Ministry of Health, Mozambique; Alarice Marsh, HIV Testing Services (HTS) program lead, Ministry of Health, South Africa and Fatim Cham-Jallow, Team lead, Integrated Laboratory Systems Strengthening Team, The Global Fund, we launch the WHO’s QMS toolkit for multi-disease serological testing in non-laboratory settings. We walk through the toolkit, highlight its practical minimum steps and get perspectives from Mozambique and South Africa on the toolkit’s added value and how it fits national contexts.
