This webinar, titled “Modelling Societal Burden of AMU/AMR: Introducing Productivity Adjusted Life Years (PALYs),” expands on the “burden of disease” concepts of DALYs and QALYs and shows how they can be adapted into PALYs—Productivity Adjusted Life Years—for livestock, helping us capture the economic and productivity burden of AMR in animals. We will explore how new modelling approaches—like PALYs—can help us better estimate the economic and societal burden of antimicrobial use (AMU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in livestock, and why this matters for both animal health and public health decision-making.
