Introduction

Objective
The main objective of this review is to:
- Assess the adequacy of the QuickBooks Online Financial System in terms of:
- Ability to meet ASLM’s internal accounting and reporting needs as per ASLM’s Finance and Accounting Manual
- Ability to meet various donor financial management and reporting requirements
- Ability to support ASLM adherence to the stipulated accounting standard i.e. IFRS for SMEs.
- Assess ASLM user familiarity and understanding of the QuickBooks Online Financial System.
- Assess optimization of the current QuickBooks online utilization.
- Make pertinent recommendations for ASLM Management with regards to short term, medium term and long-term improvements in the financial system architecture
Scope of Work
The assessment will cover the following areas:
- Review of ASLM Finance & Accounting Manual
- Analysis of all ASLM Grants and Donor Reporting Requirements to assess system compatibility
- Assessment of Internal Reporting Needs
- Assessment of Posting Attributes and Utilization: Review the setup and use of posting attributes (e.g., cost centers, project codes, donor tags, department classifications) in QuickBooks Online to determine their effectiveness in supporting accurate financial reporting, donor compliance, and internal decision-making. Identify gaps or inefficiencies in transaction coding and reporting, and provide recommendations for optimizing attribute configuration to enhance data accuracy, reporting flexibility, and system efficiency.
