This HIV viral load (VL) testing cascade self-assessment scorecard and user guide is used by the LabCoP country teams to identify critical gaps in their laboratory systems and assess the status of the different thematic areas of the VL cascade and their testing services to help identify opportunities for improvement. It was designed by the LabCoP team with assistance from Global stake holders to address each step of the VL testing cascade in relationship with the underlying laboratory system. This scorecard is based on the capability Maturation Model and uses a scoring system from 1 to 5. It helps countries to prioritize their interventions in scaling up VL services.

The scorecard is accompanied by a user guide to assist country teams with the completion of the scorecard.
