Special ECHO Session Dec 2021: The Diagnostic Evidence Hub’s Role in Accelerating Uptake of Diagnostic Innovations

December 13, 2021

On 8 December 2021 this special ECHO session was held to focus on the role of the Diagnostic Evidence Hub in accelerating uptake of diagnostic innovations. The Diagnostic Evidence Hub, launched in 2020 by the FASTER Project and hosted on the ASLM website, provides easy access to consolidated regulatory and performance data for test methods to accelerate their in-country registration and adoption. In this session, Mr Mashate Silver (ASLM), and Dr Susie Braniff (WHO) presented about the Diagnostic Evidence Hub background, the prequalification of IVD, the collaborative registration procedure, and a demonstration on how to navigate the platform on ASLM’s website for effective information retrieval and use. Prequalification of diagnostic products promotes and facilitates access to safe, appropriate and affordable diagnostics. This session provides valuable information to regulatory bodies, policy makers and entities that undertake independent verification of new IVDs prior to their deployment for use.
