The general global TB burden remains high despite the ongoing control efforts from global, regional and national programs.
The current MDR and XDR TB trajectory is untoward and poses a significant public health challenges, with Africa bearing a disproportionate burden due to limitation in the scale up of available molecular tools. Some of the limitations are just the “in-decision to take up” some of these evidence-based interventions to full scale implementation.

In this session presented by Dipti Lallubhai, Manager, Medical and scientific Affairs, Cepheid and Dr. Endale Mengesha, Senior TB Laboratory Diagnostic Service Advisor, USAID Eliminate TB Program Ethiopia. we focus on decentralizing diagnosis of MTB XDR in Africa, leveraging the 10-color genexpert systems for improved patients care.
