Key Focus Areas of the Partnership:
- Laboratory Workforce Development: Co-developing and implementing regional and national training programs to strengthen the health workforce.
- Accreditation and Quality Systems: Scaling up WHO-AFRO’s SLIPTA framework and other tools to elevate laboratory standards.
- Youth Engagement: Establishing Biomed Connect as ASLM’s youth engagement arm in Zambia and regionally, to mobilize early-career professionals.
- South-South Knowledge Exchange: Launching a fellowship program to promote peer learning, mentorship, and cross-border collaboration among African scientists.
- Research and Innovation: Partnering on grant applications, events, and platforms to support African-led biomedical research and innovation.
