One systematic review has been published (Agutu et al 2019) which includes data from six studies that have assessed the performance of m-PIMA HIV-1/2 Detect (formerly Alere q HIV-1/2 Detect) as compared with current reference standards. Overall, the assay performed well with high sensitivities (range: 95.5-100%) and high specificities (range: 99.5-100%).
